At BraveMouse Books, one of our goals is to encourage children to see themselves as creators, and to help them share that creativity with others.
Our Make a Mouse project is inspired by Benjamin Middlemouse, one of the heroes of Benjamin and Bumper to the Rescue . Author Molly Coxe made Benjamin using needle felting and sewing techniques. Our Make a Mouse is a simplified version of Benjamin, designed for children and parents at home, teachers in the classroom, and librarians and their young patrons.
Here are some written instructions you can download to help you make your very own brave mice. When you’ve made your mouse heroes (and villains!) we hope you’ll share them with us. Please email a photo of your mouse creations to , and we will add your photo to the “Mouse Clubhouse” on BraveMouseBooks.com. (We will not use or share your email address with anyone for any reason!)
